Operating a plant is a daily routine with records, not a monthly consultant visit. Compliance is lost on the days nobody looked.

Compliance is a document, not an intention
The environmental authority does not assess effort: it assesses a laboratory report within consent, on time, at the frequency the licence specifies. Most of the penalties we see do not come from effluent out of consent — they come from self-monitoring filed late, or from a licence that expired with nobody watching the calendar. We control that calendar as part of the contract.
Reuse and operating cost
Effluent treated to a quality sufficient for reuse in cooling towers, yard washing or irrigation reduces abstraction and the water bill. Not every plant can support reuse, and the return does not always justify the investment — we assess each case with numbers before recommending, including when the conclusion is that it is not worth it.

Frequently asked questions
Is it worth outsourcing the operation of an effluent plant?
It usually is where the plant is not the company's core activity. Keeping a trained operator, a responsible engineer, a laboratory contract and a licence calendar in house requires a structure that only pays for itself in large plants. Outsourced, the cost becomes predictable and technical responsibility acquires a named holder.
What is an abstraction permit and who needs one?
It is the authorisation from the water authority to abstract water or discharge effluent into a watercourse. Anyone abstracting from a well or a river, or discharging treated effluent outside the public network, generally needs one — and it has an expiry date and conditions that must be met and evidenced.
Will you take over a plant from another operator?
We will, starting with an assessment of equipment condition, analysis history and documentary status. That assessment defines what is initial remediation and what is operation — and avoids inheriting as ours a non-compliance that already existed.
Does Construtorre also build the plant?
We build and refurbish the civil side of treatment plants — tanks, reactors, containment, plant rooms — and coordinate the electromechanical installation. Many contracts begin with a remediation and go on to the operation.
